Set them free

Couple avenges cleric's sexual assault on their daughter.

From Reuters:
...Afghan police have arrested the parents of a 14-year-old girl after they attacked a religious cleric and cut off his nose and ears in retaliation for what they say were a series of sexual attacks on their daughter.

Right activists say there has been a sharp rise in violent attacks against women in the deeply conservative Muslim country, where women have fought hard to gain rights after the collapse of Taliban government in 2001.

Restoring women's rights after the Taliban was ousted by a U.S.-led coalition of troops was cited as one of the main objectives of the war.
The provincial head of women's affairs, Khadija Yaqeen, told Reuters that the girl had told her parents four months ago she had been assaulted.

The father invited the mullah to his house on Monday for dinner, police said.
"I cut off his ears and nose," her father Abdul Qahar, dressed in a traditional shalwar kameez and a turban, said from the police chief's office in the northern Baghlan province.

"I don't know if a cat ate his ears, but his nose went down the drain," he told Reuters, speaking in the Dari language....

on the humorous one-liner she had made linking baptism by waterboarding  when dealing with terrorists.

At her FaceBook page:
.....Actions to stop terrorists  who’d utterly annihilate America and delight in massacring our innocent children? Darn right I’d do whatever it takes to foil their murderous jihadist plots – including waterboarding. Whatever one thinks of my one-liner at the NRA rally about treating evil terrorists the way they deserve to be treated to prevent the death of innocent people, it’s utterly absurd for MSNBC to suggest that I could put our beloved troops in harm’s way, but we’ve come to expect the absurd from that failing network. If you want to talk about what really harms our troops, let’s talk about politicians who gut our military’s budgets, or a president whose skewed budgetary priorities slash military benefits, or an administration that puts our vets on endless waiting lists for care that comes too late to help those who’ve paid the price for our freedom, or those who break bread with those who think it makes no difference how our military heroes died in Benghazi or anywhere else trying to protect America. Those actions are a heck of a lot more harmful than declaring an appropriate message our enemies should receive. If some overly sensitive wusses took offense, remember the First Amendment doesn’t give you a right not to be offended. Perhaps hypocritical folks who only want Freedom of Speech to apply to those who agree with their liberal agenda might want to consider that the evil terrorists who were the brunt of my one-liner would be the first to strip away ALL our rights if given the chance. That’s why we do whatever we can to prevent them from killing innocent people. And for that, we should NEVER apologize. Good Lord, critics... buck up or stay in the truck. And if you love freedom, thank our troops! Thank our vets! And thank those who have the brains to support them and the guts to defend what they have earned!

China's murderous Muslims at it again

No corner of the world is immune from murderous Muslims. Hopefully, when the moon becomes habitable,  they won't try to migrate there too.  Sheesh!

War games on steroids

What's with all this flexing of muscles?  All these countries against one country? Have they heard of what happens when a proud and formidable adversary is cornered? I fear nothing good or sensible will come as a result of what the USA, Canada, EU and others are doing.

Nigeria's 200+ schoolgirls in Boko Haram's claws going through hell ....

but does anybody give a fig?

Will the almighty America and her ever-ready allies who focus on the Middle East but ignore Africa, will they for once  have the courtesy to scan  satellites' info  to see where the 200+ innocent Nigerian school girls are kept in bondage by Boko Haram?
Will drones be deployed/employed to get a mapping so the Nigeria's inefficient military and police force can be hand-fed the info to get them to move their butts?
I doubt it.

Nigeria is one country that NATO would not be criticized for invading and taking over. The govt. there is so corrupt and inefficient, even the worst that NATO could do, would be a thousand times better than what the govt. does.

From TheGuardianUK:
....The colonial government had marked the forest out as a game reserve. Today, Sambisa has become one of the strongest bases of the Boko Haram insurgents who run back into its dark recesses anytime they have finished their slaughter of harmless citizens.

The families of more than 230 Nigerian schoolgirls abducted by the Islamist insurgents two weeks ago threatened to go into the forest themselves to try and find their daughters. The girls, aged mostly between 16 and 18 years old, were rounded up at gunpoint after militants overpowered a military guard outside their boarding school in Chibok, in north-eastern Borno state. The Nigerian military have focussed their efforts against the group in this area........

......According to Professor Umar Maryah of University of Maiduguri, the forest covers an area stretching approximately 60,000 square kilometres across the north east from Borno, Yobe, Gombe, Bauchi states along the Darazo corridor, Jigawa and right up to some parts of Kano State in the far north......

......It actually took the intelligence services a long time to discover that the game reserve had become a hideout for the sect. They waited three years until several lives had been lost before acting reluctantly on the intelligence advises,” an intelligence source told the Nation. “As a matter of fact, Sambisa is not the only hideout of the insurgents.”

The source said they believe the school girls kidnapped by Boko Haram two weeks ago are now “at the beck and call” of the group and fears that they “could become the latest sex slaves of the insurgents”.

“The girls will be moved tactically from one base to another mostly in the night so that they cannot recognise where they were. They will finally end up in Sambisa or Algoni, the two most dreaded bases remaining for the managers of the nation’s security to bring down,” the source added.

The source said Nigeria's intelligence agencies are willing to act to take down the Boko Haram base, but their efforts have been hampered by the government........

From ABC:
...Abducted schoolgirls: Parents protests    in Nigeria over lack of action on missing students.
.....Parents and supporters gathered outside government offices and pleaded for officials in Abuja to find the girls.
"May God curse every one of those who has failed to free our girls," said Enoch Mark, whose daughter and two nieces were among the students abducted from the government girls secondary school.....

........President Goodluck Jonathan has faced scathing criticism over the attacks and the pressure has mounted since the kidnappings.

Parents, who said they had little confidence in the military search effort, have scoured the bushlands of the remote region, pooling money to buy fuel for motorbikes and cars to conduct their own rescue effort.

Pogo Bitrus, leader of a Chibok elders group, told AFP that locals had received various tips concerning the whereabouts of the hostages, with some reports saying they had been taken across borders into Cameroon and Chad.......

Best sarcastic laugh you'll have today ....

and as usual it's at the madness as portrayed by the maddest people on Earth.  I think there are no mirrors anywhere in any of the Muslim countries.  These idiots have never really looked at themselves or ever ask of themselves  what it is they do wrong that makes them so hated all over the world by non-Muslims.  It's not like we just woke up one day and said " Let's all start targeting Arabs and Muslims, let's all hate them to pieces."

North Korea continues with war games

I blame the video games from that part of the world.  From the laptop screen to real life is just a wee tiny step. They love death too, just like the Muslims.

From BBC:
North Korea conducts live-fire drill near disputed border.
North Korea has conducted a live-fire drill near the disputed maritime border, Seoul officials say, but no shells fell in South Korean waters.

It is the second time in a month that Pyongyang has carried out such drills.

Last time, the exercises led to an exchange of artillery fire between North and South Korea.

But on this occasion, North Korea's live rounds fell short of the disputed western sea border and so South Korea did not respond.

"The North's shells fell in waters about 3km (2 miles) north of the NLL [Northern Limit Line, the disputed border]," Yonhap news agency quoted a spokesman from the South's Joint Chiefs of Staff as saying.

"The South Korean military is currently monitoring North Korean artillery units, while maintaining high military readiness.".........

Luhansk : The "town" that wants to become a "country"

Talk about big dreams!  2004 census has Luhansk being home to under half a million citizens.  Pic #2 shows Luhansk as the red dot on the Ukraine map.

From BBC:
Pro-Russia activists have stormed  several official buildings in the eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk.
They seized the regional government's headquarters and prosecutor's office before attacking the police station, reportedly with automatic rifles.
Interim President Olexander Turchynov criticised local police for their "inaction" and "criminal treachery".

Earlier, Russia criticised sanctions imposed by the US and EU over Moscow's alleged actions to destabilise Ukraine.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said the US had "essentially lowered an 'Iron Curtain'" by targeting Russia's high-tech sector..........

..........A group of men armed with sticks and metal bars broke into the building, whose entrances were not protected by police. They then pulled down the Ukrainian flag flying from the roof and replaced it with a Russian one, and opened the main entrance to the crowd.

Inside the building's courtyard, they found security personnel in riot gear massed in a defensive position. There was a stand-off, but no violence........

.......Following the takeovers, Ukraine's interim President, Olexander Turchynov, demanded the dismissal of the police chiefs in Luhansk and the other eastern city of Donetsk.

"The overwhelming majority of law enforcement bodies in the east are incapable of fulfilling their duty to defend our citizens," he said.

Pro-Russia activists control much of the neighbouring Donetsk region.....

If not for Obama, the world would have been in WW3 by now

And, sadly, it could still happen... what with the warmongers badgering away at him to hit Syria and Iran and Russia and North Korea or any other country that dares to stand up to the ghoulish bastards.  To these warmongers, there's no other way but war, death and destruction.  Dialogue, commonsense and humanity are devoid from their dictionaries.  When dialogue (as in the case with Iran) and commonsense (as in the case with Syria and the false flag chemical attack fiasco) results in avoiding escalation of hostilities, the ghoulish bastards show their displeasure by targeting the man (Barack Hussein Obama) with all sort of criticism.  This is what our world has come to ... a man is criticized and hated for not giving his okay to go ahead and murder people in their tens of thousands.

Josh Gerstein writing at Politico:
....President Barack Obama made clear Monday that he's fed up with critics who are demanding his administration respond more assertively to crises in places like Syria and Ukraine, but are vague about precisely what form that response should take.

"Typically, criticism of our foreign policy has been directed at the failure to use military force. And the question I think I would have is, why is it that everybody is so eager to use military force after we’ve just gone through a decade of war at enormous costs to our troops and to our budget? And what is it exactly that these critics think would have been accomplished?" Obama said during a press conference with Philippine President Beningno Aquino III.
Speaking in mid-afternoon in Manila but at 3:40 A.M. back home in Washington, Obama showed some irritation as he responded to Fox News reporter Ed Henry's question about the administration's overarching foreign policy doctrine and about "critics who say they think the doctrine is weakness."

"Frankly, most of the foreign policy commentators that have questioned our policies would go headlong into a bunch of military adventures that the American people had no interest in participating in and would not advance our core security interests," Obama said.

After complaining that he lacked time to mount a full defense of his global foreign policy approach, the president took more than seven minutes to address the criticism. He didn't name any particular critics but may have had in mind both former Bush administration officials and think tank experts, as well as some more hawkish voices on Capitol Hill, such as Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz..) (A spokesman for McCain did not respond to a request for comment.)

"The point is that for some reason many who were proponents of what I consider to be a disastrous decision to go into Iraq haven’t really learned the lesson of the last decade, and they keep on just playing the same note over and over again.  Why?  I don’t know," Obama said. "If there are occasions where targeted, clear actions can be taken that would make a difference, then we should take them.  We don't do them because somebody sitting in an office in Washington or New York think it would look strong.  That's not how we make foreign policy."...........

........The president accused his critics of both opportunism and a kind of intellectual dishonestly over issues like Syria and Ukraine.

"Those who criticize our foreign policy with respect to Syria, they themselves say, 'No, no, no, we don’t mean sending in troops.' Well, what do you mean?  'Well, you should be assisting the opposition.' Well, we’re assisting the opposition.  What else do you mean?  'Well, perhaps you should have taken a strike in Syria to get chemical weapons out of Syria.'  Well, it turns out we’re getting chemical weapons out of Syria without having initiated a strike.  So, what else are you talking about?  And at that point it kind of trails off," Obama declared.

On Ukraine, Obama took a similar tack, fencing verbally with an absent opponent who unsurprisingly lost the match.

"'We shouldn’t be putting troops in,' the critics will say. 'That’s not what we mean.'  Well, okay, what are you saying?  'Well, we should be arming the Ukrainians more.'  Do people actually think that somehow us sending some additional arms into Ukraine could potentially deter the Russian army?  Or are we more likely to deter them by applying the sort of international pressure, diplomatic pressure and economic pressure that we’re applying?" Obama asked.....

Remains of prehistoric habitat under the Great Lakes

Fascinating stuff!
The vids are from about 2 years ago.

From YahooNews:
....Archaeologists have discovered sophisticated prehistoric stone walls deep beneath the surface of Lake Huron that give the clearest portrait yet of the mysterious people who lived in the Great Lakes region at the end of the Ice Age.
"It's just way more complex than anything we've seen before," said John O'Shea, a University of Michigan archeologist who published his findings Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.
Since 2008, O'Shea and his colleagues have been investigating an underwater ridge in Lake Huron that runs roughly between Alpena, Mich., and Point Clark, Ont. As the glaciers were beating their final retreat about 9,000 years ago, water in the lake was about 100 metres below today's level and the Alpena-Amberley Ridge was exposed.

That ridge formed a narrow corridor between what is now northern Michigan and southern Ontario. Its subarctic environment of tamarack, spruce and wetland made it a perfect migration route for vast herds of caribou that roamed the area.
"They were massive," said O'Shea, who suggests those herds were at least equal to the tens and hundreds of thousands of animals that make up modern caribou herds in the Canadian Arctic.
"I'm imagining seas of animals going through there."
The paleo-Indians who were moving onto land the glaciers were slowly exposing made good use of the animals. O'Shea has found more than 60 stone constructions under the water that are likely to have been used as hunting blinds.
But his most recent discovery is far and beyond his other finds.......

The Utopia of Libya as at April 29, 2014

What the USA-led NATO has gifted to the world!
How many Libyans are now refugees in Italy?
How many Libyans and other North Africans from Libya's neighbouring countries have fled to not only the EU countries but those with the means and contacts are now in North America?
Why are we screaming for restrictions on immigration from Muslim countries while simultaneously screaming even louder for wars on Muslim nations when we know wars over there mean more Muslim immigrants here to the West?

From YahooNews:
....Jordan has agreed to handover  a Libyan Islamist to Tripoli to secure the release of its ambassador kidnapped in the North African country two weeks ago, Libya's state news agency LANA said on Monday.
Jordan's ambassador to Libya, Fawaz al-Itan, was snatched by gunmen who demanded the release of Mohamed Dersi, a Libyan Islamist militant jailed for life in 2007 for plotting to blow up the main airport in Jordan.....

From GatestoneInstitute
...."The current situation in Libya is a standing invitation for the intervention of foreign powers," according to Saudi-owned Asharq Al-Awsat's deputy editor-in-chief, Ali Ibrahim. Ibrahim writes that armed militias, who often enjoy the support of sectors of local populations, are committing abuses and violations of human rights, while radical Islamist groups are taking advantage of Libya's chaos to transform the country into a home for training camps for militants. "In other words, Libya has become a security threat, with the effects extending even beyond its borders," Ibrahim states......

India requires visitors from Pakistan to take oral polio vaccine

Good move!
Do you think our politically correct dumbos in the West have also laid down a similar policy?
I doubt it.

Meena Menon writing at TheHindu:
....The Indian High Commission in Pakistan has issued an advisory on Wednesday that all adults and children travelling to India from Pakistan after January 30, 2014 are required to obtain Oral Polio Vaccination (OPV) at least six weeks prior to their departure to India, but not more than one year before the date of travel.

A statement said that travellers from Pakistan to India after January 30, 2014 are required to carry their vaccination record as evidence of polio vaccination and it will be requested for entry into India thereafter. Record for administering OPV may be obtained from an authorised medical centre in the format laid out in the World Health Organisation’s International Health Regulations 2005 International Certificate of Vaccination (http://who.int/ihr/IVC-06-26.pdf)

Once administered OPV remains effective for one year, after which the vaccination should be taken again. The step is being taken to safeguard India’s polio-free status attained after sustained efforts and investment, the statement said. It is applicable to all travellers from all countries, where polio disease is endemic or where cases of polio are reported. It is also applicable to Indian nationals travelling to and from these countries.

Pakistan is one of the three countries in the world, where polio is endemic and recently a polio outbreak in Syria was traced back to Pakistan.

Paul Weston wanted to show the world "how utterly sunk this poor old country of Britain is today"

And, you would hope he's done just that when he got arrested for quoting a few paragraphs from Churchill's works ... but only the ones with their eyes wide open and with still a few functioning brain-cells will realize what's in their future while the rest will deride him for being an "islamophobe" and worse.

"Scenes of Absolute Brutality" in Ukraine

Watch the vids below at Zero Hedge and judge for yourselves if this is not the start of a civil war in Ukraine ... a civil war that has started because of the planned, plotted and instigated  by the West coup in Kiev.  I am so ashamed of the fact that even our Conservative govt of Canada, following Obama's lead, is part of the plot and planning that went into the coup ... and nothing they do or say to prove otherwise will ever change that fact.

Donetsk Riots Break Out In "Scenes Of Absolute Brutality"

On the Keystone XL Pipeline issue

The article below tells it all.  It's all about politics and who or what actually controls the people in "power" in the government. The billionaires of the world are our real masters because they control the strings ... the purse strings as well as the strings on their own little puppets.

Byron York writing at WashingtonExaminer:
On Keystone pipeline, Democratic stalwart Laborers Union finds itself outbid by one enviro-billionaire
The Laborers International Union of North America, with about 570,000 members, wants the Obama administration to approve construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. The union has a lot of clout in Democratic circles; according to the Center for Responsive Politics, it has contributed $38,089,860 to political candidates since 1989, with just seven percent of it going to Republicans.

Tom Steyer, the hedge-fund billionaire, wants the Obama administration to block construction of the pipeline. Although a relative newcomer to the political game, he has pledged to give Democrats $50 million, and raise $50 million more, to get his way.

Who has more clout on this issue, the longtime Democratic labor union that has contributed $38 million over the past quarter-century, or the guy who can come up with $100 million for this election cycle alone? The question answers itself. And so no one should be surprised that President Obama has again postponed a decision on the pipeline, and left the Laborers unhappy one more time.

Steyer’s contribution alone — not counting the amount he has pledged to raise — would top the total donations from almost any major Democratic constituency over the last 25 years. According to those Center for Responsive Politics numbers, Steyer’s $50 million is more than the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers has contributed in the last quarter-century ($45,516,130, two percent of it to Republicans). It’s more than the United Auto Workers has contributed in the same period ($41,669,153, zero percent of it to Republicans). It’s more than the Service Employees International Union has contributed ($38,569,790, two percent of it to Republicans). Go down the list. Only two unions — the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees ($61,339,129, one percent to Republicans) and the National Education Association ($58,783,738, four percent to Republicans) — have contributed more in the last 25 years than Steyer plans to give this cycle..........

USA warns Libya that "international community" will take over if govt. does not clean up act?

Just like many of us suspected, USA-led NATO has been chomping at the reins to be let off so it can start raping Libya. It's more than possible that USA and her allies probably had this planned all along (see second link for possible confirmation).

Libya is swollen with oil and so her fate is sealed.... she belongs to USA-led NATO.  If you are a legal beagle and worry about the legality of it all... don't worry, be happy. Everything is all very legal because the sealed and signed document is either written in the Bible or seen in the stars.

This is what Americans have been trained to do by the powers-that-be who control us earthlings. At home they grab land from ranchers, and worldwide they either grab countries outright or grab the governments and make them their obedient little puppets.

From MiddleEastMonitor:
....Senior Libyan sources revealed to Al-Araby Al-Gadeed website that the visit by deputy US Secretary of State William Burns to Tripoli two days ago included a warning by Burns that "Libyan rulers should undertake their responsibilities in overcoming the current unrest within two months, or else the country would be taken over by the international community."

The sources confirmed that Burns warned political forces and the government during a surprise visit that if the country's political instability is not resolved within the next two months, US President Barack Obama, in coordination with the European Union, will dispatch a special representative to take charge of the political transition in the country.

Analysts interpreted this warning as a prelude to a step that may place Libya under "International mandate".

Burns visited Libya on Wednesday and met with leaders of the "Revolutionary Room" along with the chairman of the Justice and Construction party, the political wing of the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood, the deputy chairman of the National Congress Gomaa Ateika, and other politicians...........

Diana West writing at WND:
....More than Benghazi skeletons should haunt Hillary Clinton’s expected 2016 presidential bid. It now seems that the entire war in Libya – where thousands died in a civil war in which no U.S. interest was at stake – might well have been averted on her watch and, of course, that of President Obama. How? In March 2011, immediately after NATO’s punishing bombing campaign began, Moammar Gadhafi was “ready to step aside,” says retired Rear Adm. Charles R. Kubic, U.S. Navy. “He was willing to go into exile and was willing to end the hostilities.”

What happened? According to Kubic, the Obama administration chose to continue the war without permitting a peace parley to go forward......

Comic Relief: Yahya Snow and the sucking of children's tongues by his prophet

I laughed ... aloud.

David Wood at his blog.
....Yahya Snow Advocates Sucking on the Tongues of Children.

Say what you want about Yahya Snow's juvenile arguments and childish personal attacks, but at least he tries to respond to some of the odd things we read about Muhammad. Take, for instance, Muhammad's practice of sucking on the tongues of children, and letting them suck on his tongue:

Al-Adab al-Mufrad al-Bukhari 1183—It is related that Abu Hurayra said, "I never saw al-Hasan without my eyes overflowing with tears. That is because the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, went out one day and I found him in the mosque. He took my hand and I went along with him. He did not speak to me until we reached the market of Banu Qaynuqa. He walked around it and looked. Then he left and I left with him until we reached the mosque. He sat down and wrapped himself in his garment. Then he said, 'Where is the little one? Call the little one to me.' Hasan ...........

Canadian woman says Paris cops raped her

Those who are supposed to serve and protect us are often the ones we have to be protected from.

From CBCNews:
.... Paris cops could face charges  in alleged rape of Canadian woman.
Alleged victim, who is daughter of a Canadian police officer, will soon return to Canada.
French media report three police officers could face charges in connection with the alleged rape of a Canadian woman at the Paris police headquarters, while a fourth officer is expected to be released from custody.

A spokesman for Paris police told The Canadian Press the case had been transferred to the public prosecutor's office.
The office could not be reached for comment.

Published reports also say the 34-year-old Toronto woman, who is the daughter of a Canadian police officer, will soon return to Canada.
Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs would only say consular officials are providing assistance to a Canadian citizen in Paris.

The reports allege the police officers, who are part of an anti-gang squad, met the woman at an Irish pub Tuesday night and later went together to the unit's headquarters.
French newspapers cite sources saying the woman allegedly left distraught the next morning and told another officer that she had been raped....

Are you wondering why Ecuador's prez ordered some Americans gone from his country?

And, are you also wondering why this news is making "news" now?  Wasn't this something that Ecuador govt. said they were gonna do months ago?

Watch how Ecuador suddenly has protest marches and other troubles within a few months.  It's not healthy for any country to offend the numbero uno mafioso.  Don't forget that Julian Assange is still residing as a refugee at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London and so far it has cost the Caliphate of the United Kingdom  £6 Million to keep guards outside the embassy just in case Assange comes out for a smoke and can be captured. Crazy!!

From BBC:
...The United States says about 20 of its military personnel will leave Ecuador by the end of April, to comply with an order from the government.

Earlier this month, President Rafael Correa told the US Department of Defense to leave amid concerns of meddling in Ecuador's internal affairs.

The order does not affect the US military attache in Ecuador.
A US spokesman in the Ecuadorian capital, Quito, said the US regretted Mr Correa's decision.

"Our close military cooperation over the past four decades has produced major advances in the fight against drug trafficking, human trafficking, terrorism and other transnational crimes," Jeffrey Weinshenker, spokesman for the US Embassy, told BBC Mundo.

He said that the US respected the "sovereign decision of the government of Ecuador", adding it could affect bilateral relations......

What's wrong with Sharlene Simon?

Does she want to become the most hated female in Canada?  Okay,  we know that the victims' families are suing her, but for her to turn around and sue the victims?  What kind of a hare-brained lawyer advised Sharlene Simon to do that?

....Woman who struck cyclists,  killing one, now suing them for stress she’s suffered.

This is a cautionary tale about our modern reflex to head straight to court to compensate us the tragedies in our lives.
An Ontario woman who struck three teenage boys on their bicycles, killing one, now is suing the kids' families for more than $1 million for the stress she's suffered as a result of the accident.
Before your head explodes, you should also know she's being sued by the teens' families, but I'll leave it to you to decide who's more deserving.

Of course their respective insurers will probably wind up with the tab, which means we all pay in the end through higher premiums.
Sharlene Simon was driving down a country lane in Simcoe County north of Toronto around 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 28, 2012, when she suddenly came on the three teens riding abreast returning from a local coffee shop.

Unable to stop in time, she plowed into the group, killing 17-year-old Brandon Majewski and seriously injuring 16-year-old Richard McLean. Their friend Jake Roberts, also 16, escaped with only scratches, QMI Agency reported.

Last December, a lawyer for Simon filed a statement of claim in Ontario Superior Court naming the estate of the dead teen and the families of his friends, alleging the driver "has sustained and will sustain great pain and suffering," including " a severe shock to her system" as a result of the crash, Postmedia News reported.
Simon is claiming $1.35 million because, according to her claim, "her enjoyment of life has been and will be lessened" by the accident.

Simon is herself the target of a $900,000 suit by the families of the victims that alleges Simon was speeding, intoxicated or texting at the time of the accident.
Neither side's claim has been proven in court.
It's not clear from the news reports which suit landed in court first. Lawyer Brian Cameron, acting for the victims' families, told QMI Agency their suit was mainly to recover medical and funeral costs.
Still, he was stunned at Simon's suit, which also names the County of Simcoe for failing to maintain the road......

On Dolphins and the USS Donald Cook

Two pieces of related news items

One:
Spencer Ackerman writing at TheGuardian:
....However ominously martial Russia’s actions toward Ukraine have become, the next combatants in the crisis will not be the US navy’s fleet of dolphins.

Yes, the navy trains and keeps dolphins, whose powerful innate echolocation abilities help sailors spot suspicious undersea objects that might be mines. The marine mammal enlistees are the aquatic equivalent of the dogs, whose sophisticated sense of smell has aided US soldiers in the hunt for homemade insurgent bombs on land.

But, contrary to reports, the dolphins are not accompanying the USS Donald Cook to the Black Sea.

Russia’s Izvestia newspaper recently asserted that a team of US dolphins had formed a maritime security perimeter around the Cook, a guided missile destroyer the US recently sent to international waters near Ukraine. Last week, Russian fighter jets passed over the warship in a move the Pentagon considered a provocation, but it is unclear what the dolphins would have done to confront Russian airpower.

The question is moot, since, according to the navy, the dolphins were never alongside the Cook in the first place.
“There is no truth to this report,” said Lieutenant Commander Katie Cerezo, a navy spokeswoman.
There will probably be no truth to the next one, either.......

Two:
and in continuation to that last sentence above,  it's best to take the latest bit of news from the Russian side as propaganda.
However, if true, has the USA seen the possibility of danger somewhere else .... maybe in the vicinity of the Sea of Japan?
It's tough trying to be the policeman of the world.  Time to retire and take it easy, dear USA.

Itar-Tass:
...Warship USS Donald Cook leaves Black Sea.
French ship Dupuy de Lome and USS Taylor remain in the Black Sea
The US warship USS Donald Cook with the Aegis missile defense system onboard has left the Black Sea, a Russian Defense Ministry source told ITAR-TASS on Friday.
USS Donald Cook left the Black Sea on Thursday, passed through the straits and entered the Aegean Sea, the source said.
Two NATO warships remain in the Black Sea. French ship Dupuy de Lome and USS Taylor entered the sea on April 10 and April 22, respectively.
The US frigate is in the western part of the sea near the Romanian port of Constanta, and the French ship is in the Georgian port of Batumi....

Supreme Court tries to bring PM Harper down to Earth ....

but will he stop flying in the clouds, getting lightheaded and making wrong choices and wrong decisions?
I doubt it.
Remember, this is the same man, who before he became PM on a "strong Conservative majority" had promised to do away with the Senate,  but did just the opposite by staffing it with additional wrong choices .... this time with his very own wrong choices.
Never trust politicians ... NEVER!  They are where they are because they are excellent at spouting lies and making them sound either like promises or the absolute truth.

From BBC:
...The Canadian Supreme Court has rejected the Harper government's plan to reform or abolish the Canadian Senate.

In a unanimous decision, the high court said most major changes suggested must be approved by seven provinces and half of Canada's population.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper said he was disappointed in the decision and said reform was now "off the table".
Senators are appointed on the advice of the prime minister and can serve until 75 years old.

The chamber has been recently embroiled in an expenses row.
Four senators in total have faced audits over their claims for living and travel expenses. An internal Senate panel has demanded repayment of large sums from the senators.......

From CBC:
....Five recent Supreme Court setbacks for the Harper government.
The Supreme Court of Canada dealt the Harper government another blow Friday, this time on the subject of Senate reform. Here's a look at five recent cases in which the high court rejected the government's arguments.
April 25, 2014: The court rules that the Harper government cannot use Parliament alone to impose Senate term limits, allow consultative elections for senatorial candidates or abolish the upper chamber. The justices hold that the first two changes would need the consent of seven provinces representing half the provinces. Abolition would require provincial unanimity.

From CBC:
.....Stephen Harper says Senate reform is off the table
Top court decision supports 'status quo,' prime minister says, and 'virtually no Canadian' agrees
Significant reform of the Senate as well as the question of whether the upper chamber can be abolished are "off the table," Prime Minister Stephen Harper said, speaking in Kitchener-Waterloo Friday.

"The Supreme Court has said these are only decisions the provinces can make," Harper said, referring to the top court's advisory opinion that Senate changes cannot be accomplished without the consent of some or all of the provinces along with the federal government........

Report from OSCE

Report from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) dated April 25 and covers period up to April 24.

....This update is provided for the media and the public.

Western and Central Ukraine, including Kiev, as well as many regions of the southern part of the country, were calm. In the regions neighbouring Donbas some tensions continued – they resulted either from the political polarization or fears of possible activities of armed opponents of the government. The situation continued to be tense in Luhansk and, in particular, Donetsk regions.

The Kharkiv team attended a regular session of the Regional Council. The deputies urged the regional legislature to secure the status of Russian as a second state language, and to ban parties advocating neo-Nazism and separatism. The team also monitored two rallies, by pro- and anti-government groups respectively. Whereas supporters of a unitary Ukraine numbered around 50 to 60, the opponents of the current government totalled approximately 200. Approximately 200 police in riot gear were present. Neighbouring metro stations were closed.

The general situation in Luhansk was assessed as tense. The situation around the occupied state security service (SBU) building remained stable, although the team observed further reinforcement of the barricades around the building. The Special Monitoring Mission met with the chairman of the Luhansk Regional Council and the local branch of the Party of Regions. According to him, the Luhansk Regional Council shared the demands of the SBU occupiers for recognizing Russian as a regional language and implementation of decentralization. He insisted that the Luhansk Regional Council did not support separatism.

The overall situation in Donetsk region remained tense. Occupation of state institutions in the city of Donetsk continued. The team confirmed that no offices or floors of the Donetsk Regional Administration building were returned to the government, contrary to what was reported in the press. Additional barricades and roadblocks were found to have been erected on the highways leading north from Donetsk, all of them being manned by unarmed or armed supporters of the “Donetsk People’s Republic”. On the way between Sloviansk and Artemivsk (45 km southeast of Sloviansk) the team saw two roadblocks manned by Ukrainian military personnel, and on the outskirts of Donetsk a roadblock manned by Ukrainian police was encountered. The team observed that two roadblocks in the region, in Makiyivka and in the vicinity of Debaltseve, were being dismantled. According to a member of the Town Council of Debaltseve, this resulted from a lack of volunteers to man the barricades, as people were afraid for their personal safety. The team received information that the occupation of the city administration building in Mariupol continued in spite of press reports to the contrary.

The Dnepropetrovsk team met with a representative of the pro- government National Defence organization who confirmed that two men had been detained by police and taken to Dnepropetrovsk on suspicion of espionage. The interlocutor ................

Our ally King of Saudi Arabia has four of his daughters under house arrest?

And our glorious freedom of the press in the West didn't think of telling us about it?  If this is true, then it's poof positive that the gagged and controlled by the govt or the govt's agents sitting on the BODs of the MSM keeps Saudi Arabia's dirty laundry well hidden.
This is the reason why I often encourage people to get their news from every side of the globe... only then you realize how we are kept in the dark by the  lords and masters ruling over us.

From PressTVIran:
....One of the daughters of Saudi King Abdullah has called on people across the kingdom to rise against the ruling regime.

The eldest daughter, Sahar, who is under house arrest along with three of her sisters in the city of Jeddah, said in a video message that victory is theirs.

“Greetings to martyrs and to free men in jail. It is an honor for me to learn the meaning of freedom, rights and dignity from you revolutionary people,” the 42-year-old Saudi princess said.

“We promise to follow in your footsteps and not to let go of your hands. God’s hand will be above us. We learn determination from Ayatollah Nimr al-Nimr, the Sheikh of free men. For this reason, we will press ahead on the path by our own will,” she added.

She was referring to prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, who was arrested over calls for the release of political prisoners.

Sheikh Nimr was attacked, injured and arrested by Saudi security forces en route to his house in the Qatif region of Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province in July 8, 2012......

UK.... always a bit too late to the party, the party of standing up to Islam and Shariah

All too late, dear, stupid, ignorant UK.  How many times do we have to tell you: "You Can't Turn Back the Tide."  A handful of intellectuals like Anne Marie Waters will never be able to halt the tide ... leave alone turn it.

A supposedly new group has been formed and launched in the House of Lords calling itself "Sharia Watch".  It's gonna be like water on a duck's back.  Don't feel sorry for the Brits .... they deserve it for electing nitwits to the House of Lords.

From VORNews:
A new group has been launched at the House of Lords to campaign for greater recognition of the threat posed by Islamic Sharia law. Sharia Watch UK says it wants to highlight the impact of Islamism in Britain and campaign against the prevalence of Sharia tribunals, particularly where it relates to women's rights.

VoR's Tim Ecott spoke to Anne Marie Waters, spokesperson for Sharia Watch, and to Aina Khan, a solicitor in London who specialises in applying Sharia law within the English legal system.

“Our aim is quite simply to tell the truth," says Waters. "There is a large lack of knowledge of what Sharia Law actually stands for, what it does to women, how it treats women. And our aim is simply to tell the public – warts and all – what Sharia is: its views of women, its views of free speech, its threat to democracy, how it is operating in Britain, the organisations behind it and what their agendas are, and, indeed, the public support that such organisations receive from public figures.

Where do you see the threat coming from?

“It’s acceptance of it by the mainstream, that is a huge issue. If you look at what Sharia says about women, for example, it essentially advocates the slavery of women. If you strip it away and bear it down, that’s what it is, it’s the slavery of women, it’s the ownership of women. It degrades and humiliates women and yet it is accepted by the mainstream and supported by mainstream figures."

You say it's accepted; Britain still applies the rule of British Law, where do you see Sharia law coming in or being accepted in a way that makes you fearful?........

From RTNews:
....Russia questions NATO military buildup near border
The deployment of US and NATO aviation, ships and troops raises concerns, Russia’s Chief of General Staff told his American counterpart. In a phone conversation the two also spoke of Russian military exercises and “substantial” Ukrainian troop buildup.

“Our concern is caused by an increase of US air force and the American military personnel in the Baltic, Poland, and also the Alliance's ships in the Black Sea,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement, quoting General Valery Gerasimov. NATO wargames in Eastern Europe are also “not helping” to normalize the situation, Russia's defense minister Sergey Shoigu said earlier.........
