A North Carolina-based firm       says it employed the three military contractors who were shot to death earlier this week in Afghanistan.

Praetorian Standard Inc. of Fayetteville identified the men slain Thursday as Walter D. Fisher of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Jason D. Landphair of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and Mathew E. Fineran of Summerville, South Carolina.

Houthis Reach Out   as They Cement Power in Yemen
Abu Raad strutted through the streets of the Yemeni capital as if he owned them. His obvious glee, at a time of crisis in the country, bordered on naïveté. But he had his reasons to be happy.
Growing up as a Houthi in the northern province of Saada, he experienced years of war and brutality while fighting for the rights of his Zaydi sect, an offshoot of Shiite Islam, against the government. He described being tortured by military captors who dragged his clutched fists over splintered wood, pushing the sharp pieces under his nails. He was a teenager then.
But now, he was the one in power, embraced by many of the uniformed men who once gave their allegiance to the state.......

Protests erupt over British decision   to open military base in Bahrain
Human rights groups say Britain is being rewarded by the Gulf state's monarchy for its silence over political jailings
Britain’s decision to open a major naval base in Bahrain despite concerns over the country’s human rights record has been met with protests by opposition groups and human rights activists.
Hundreds of protesters were filmed marching through the town of Sitra, a Shia opposition stronghold, calling for the removal of the British ambassador, Iain Lindsay, after the decision was announced.
Activists said Bahrain’s decision to largely fund the base was a “reward” for Britain’s recent silence over the jailing of opponents to the Sunni monarchy.
International groups also objected to the decision. “As Bahrain pursues brutal crackdown, what better time for UK to build military base there?” said Kenneth Roth, Human Rights Watch’s executive director.
The decision to reopen Britain’s first permanent base “East of Suez” since the drawdown of Empire was announced by Philip Hammond, the Foreign Secretary, on the sidelines of the Manama Dialogue, a conference organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, on Saturday.....

Best information on present Syria statistics I have read lately. Worth a read in entirety.
From Carnegie:
The Political Geography of Syria’s War:   An Interview with Fabrice Balanche
As one of the leading French experts on Syria, Fabrice Balanche has an unusual focus. His field of study is political geography, chronicling the interplay between power, community, and territory. As an assistant professor of geography at the Université Lyon 2 and the director of its Groupe de Recherches et d’Etudes sur la Méditerranée et le Moyen-Orient, or GREMMO, he frequently appears in French media, where his early opposition to the idea that Syria could have a peaceful transition or that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was about to fall raised some hackles......

......The Orient XXI figures were based on the military situation in early summer 2013 and much has happened since. Could you give us your best estimates of how much territory and population is under the control of the different parties today?

First of all, there has been a great refugee exodus out of Syria. The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) currently puts the number of Syrian refugees at around 3.7 million, but we can probably add one million others who have not been listed as refugees, because they’re wealthy enough to avoid it or because they have crossed the border clandestinely.

In Syria, there now remain around 18 million inhabitants who have not perished in the war or fled the country. They are distributed thus: 3–6 million in rebel-held areas, 10–13 million in government-held areas, and 1–2 million in the Kurdish region.....

Truth Revealed: McCain’s ‘Moderate Rebels’   in Syria ARE ISIS

....On Tuesday during his State of the Union address, President Barack Obama touted great strides in “halting the advance of ISIS” with US-led airstrikes in Syria and Iraq. Today, US Ambassador Stuart Jones announced that “Coalition Airstrikes” (US airstrikes) have killed 6,000 ISIS fighters. How the US is able to conjure up such incredible Jack and the Beanstalk-style numbers (all but impossible to verify) is beyond anyone outside of Washington. You just have to take his word for it. Just like we just had to take US Ambassador to the Ukraine’s word for it – when Geoffrey Pyatt Tweeted a few random Digital Globe images claiming that the Russians invaded Ukraine, again. After six or so ‘Russian Invasion’ false starts, we’re still waiting for evidence beyond Twitter.
The lies and creative accounting have been palpable since the beginning of the US airstrikes in Syria. Early strikes weren’t actually against ISIS, but rather against a number of impressive empty buildings, and buildings which were curiously evacuated days before the US conducted the raids. How interesting.

This brings us to the issue of who ISIS really is, and how did ISIS build up to the level they are at today. It’s a particularly embarrassing thing to admit, because when you allow this fact out of the bag, then skeptics start asking more questions, and if there’s one thing that politicians hate more than anything, it’s facts and questions. ....

....President Benigno Aquino    has declared Friday a day of mourning for the 44 police commandos who were slaughtered in a cornfield Sunday when their top-secret mission - to kill or capture one of the world's most wanted militants - went badly wrong.

Africa agrees to send 7,500 troops   to fight Boko Haram
African leaders agreed to send 7,500 troops to fight the Boko Haram insurgency in northeast Nigeria, an African Union official said Saturday, as the international community, including long-time foes the U.S. and Iran, rallied in support of Nigeria against the militants.
The move came after the council urged heads of state to endorse the deployment of troops from five West African countries to fight the terror group, said the head of the African Union's Peace and Security Council, Samil Chergui........

From AlJazeera:
Peace talks on Ukraine have broken up after more than four hours with Kiev's envoy accusing separatist envoys of undermining the meeting by making ultimatums and refusing to discuss plans for a ceasefire, according to reports.

Ukraine's representative, former president Leonid Kuchma, was quoted by Interfax news agency as saying that the two separatist officials present had delivered ultimatums and refused "to discuss a plan of measures for a quick ceasefire and a pull-back of heavy weapons".
He also reproached the two main separatist leaders in eastern Ukraine, who signed key agreements in Minsk last September, for failing to attend Saturday's follow-up meeting of the "contact group", which also involved a Russian envoy and an official from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe......

Hezbollah fires missile salvo, killing 2 Israeli soldiers
The Lebanese militant Hezbollah group fired a salvo of missiles at an Israeli military convoy in a disputed border area Wednesday, killing two soldiers and triggering deadly clashes that marked the most serious escalation since the sides' 2006 war.

The flare-up, which also left a U.N. peacekeeper dead, added to the regional chaos brought on by neighboring Syria's civil war. Hezbollah indicated the attack was in retaliation for a deadly Israeli strike on its fighters inside Syria earlier this month.
The violence sparked fears in both countries of yet another crippling war between the two foes. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Israel would respond "forcefully," and the military fired artillery shell barrages that struck border villages in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah responded with rocket fire on Israeli military positions.....

A bomb blast ripped through a Shiite mosque in southern Pakistan as worshippers were gathering for Friday prayers, killing 56 people and wounding dozens more, officials said.

Jeffrey Scott Shapiro and Kelly Riddell writing at WashingtonTimes:
Exclusive: Secret tapes undermine Hillary Clinton on Libyan war
Joint Chiefs, key lawmaker held own talks with Moammar Gadhafi regime
First of three parts

Top Pentagon officials and a senior Democrat in Congress so distrusted Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's 2011 march to war in Libya that they opened their own diplomatic channels with the Gadhafi regime in an effort to halt the escalating crisis, according to secret audio recordings recovered from Tripoli.

The tapes, reviewed by The Washington Times and authenticated by the participants, chronicle U.S. officials' unfiltered conversations with Col. Moammar Gadhafi's son and a top Libyan leader, including criticisms that Mrs. Clinton had developed tunnel vision and led the U.S. into an unnecessary war without adequately weighing the intelligence community's concerns.

"You should see these internal State Department reports that are produced in the State Department that go out to the Congress. They're just full of stupid, stupid facts," an American intermediary specifically dispatched by the Joint Chiefs of Staff told the Gadhafi regime in July 2011, saying the State Department was controlling what intelligence would be reported to U.S. officials.

At the time, the Gadhafi regime was fighting a civil war that grew out of the Arab Spring, battling Islamist-backed rebels who wanted to dethrone the longtime dictator. Mrs. Clinton argued that Gadhafi might engage in genocide and create a humanitarian crisis and ultimately persuaded President Obama, NATO allies and the United Nations to authorize military intervention.

Gadhafi's son and heir apparent, Seif Gadhafi, told American officials in the secret conversations that he was worried Mrs. Clinton was using false pretenses to justify unseating his father and insisted that the regime had no intention of harming a mass of civilians. He compared Mrs. Clinton's campaign for war to that of the George W. Bush administration's now debunked weapons of mass destruction accusations, which were used to lobby Congress to invade Iraq, the tapes show..........

More delays in the Iraq War Inquiry report ....

which when it eventually comes out will crucify Tony Blair and several big shots in the Labour Party and moreover this report might help to get the wheels rolling to throw the US architects of that unlawful, unwarranted and totally illegal war in jail, for the rest of their miserable lives.

The devious manipulators in the UK are trying to delay the issuance of the report until after the UK elections in May in order to save some of the warmongering MPs, who incidentally, are found aplenty in all three parties of the UK government and who still continue to spew their poison and their influence to start wars here, there, everywhere.

William James writing at Reuters:
Delay to Britain's Iraq War inquiry report causes outcry.

A decision to delay a long-awaited official report into Britain's role in the Iraq War until after a general election in May drew accusations of a whitewash on Wednesday and demands for British voters to be given its findings.

The investigation, headed by former civil servant John Chilcot, was set up six years ago to learn lessons from the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq which ousted Saddam Hussein and its aftermath. Britain was the U.S. main ally in the war despite widespread public opposition.

Rose Gentle, the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq in 2004, said she was disgusted the report had taken so long to come out.

"We just feel totally let down, we just feel it's going to be a total whitewash now," she told BBC television.

The latest delay, said to be necessary to allow those criticised to respond, adds to a string of hold-ups ascribed in part to U.S. sensitivities about releasing exchanges between then-leaders U.S. President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The Chilcot Report's publication has become even more politically charged before what is expected to be a close national election between Prime Minister David Camerons's Conservatives and the opposition Labour Party.

Any criticism of Labour, which was in power at the time of the 2003 war, could damage its electoral chances, although current party leader Ed Miliband said he wanted the report to be published.

When it was announced in 2009, the report was expected to take a year but Chilcot said in a letter to Cameron this week it would still take some months to complete and that there was "no realistic prospect" of delivering it before the election.....

#BlackLivesMatter: Lessons from a Leader-ful Movement

In the 15 years that I have been supporting social change leaders to become more powerful, effective and collaborative I have never been as hopeful as I am today. A new civil rights movement with bold new leadership is emerging, and there is already a lot to be learned from these efforts, and much to celebrate.
I was saddened but not surprised when Oprah Winfrey recently said she was looking for “some kind of leadership” from this movement. Saddened that she could not yet see the incredibly courageous, strategic, and talented leadership at the heart of this “leader-ful” movement. Not surprised given the generational gap between boomers and millennials and the tendency for traditional media to seek a single charismatic leader to deliver the message...................

The truth that many know of but few speak about

Interesting. Many of us know exactly what Gearoid Colmain is stating so passionately.  Take care Mr.Colmain ... I always fear for the safety of people who speak the truth, are idealistic and can't be bought.  Evil walks our planet these days like it owns it and everybody in it.  The labyrinth of falsehoods, false flags, lies, tyranny, propaganda, murder, suicide, hypocrisy, acrimony and deceit is all around us.

US Troops Continue To See Fire in Iraq
he 300 US soldiers and Marines at al Asad air base in Iraq's Anbar province continue to see mortar fire directed at their positions, with six more mortar rounds landing on the sprawling complex last week.
A Pentagon spokesman confirmed the incoming fire, but said that the closest rounds landed about a kilometer away, noting that the base is roughly the size of the city of Boulder, Colorado.
The 2,200 US personnel on the ground in Iraq are busily training 12 Iraqi and Kurdish brigades at facilities located at al Asad, Camp Taji just north of Baghdad, and in the Kurdish controlled north in Erbil.
And while about 900 more American troops are slated to flow into Iraq in the coming weeks, the air war is continuing apace. As of Jan. 11, the US and its allies have flown 15,670 sorties over Iraq and Syria, 1,761 of those involved striking targets on the ground, according to numbers provided by the Pentagon.

Are Israel, Jabhat al-Nusra coordinating on attacks in Syria?
QUNEITRA, Syria — Since the start of the Syrian crisis, the Syrian regime has routinely accused Israel of playing a hidden role, from Qusair in the Homs countryside in May 2013 to the emergence and advances of the southern front in September 2014. UN reports published in December appear to vindicate the regime’s arguments that Israel is involved with the southern rebels.

According to a UN report covering the period from March to May 2014, the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) detected contact between rebels and the Israeli army across the Golan cease-fire line, particularly during fierce clashes between the Syrian army and the rebels. The report also confirmed that the UN forces spotted rebels transporting 89 wounded across the cease-fire line into the Israeli occupied zone, where they were handed over 19 people who had received medical treatment in addition to two dead. The UN forces also noted that the Israeli army delivered two boxes to rebels on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights.

What will $33M buy billionaire George Soros?

It will guarantee him a place in history for being one of the main donors to the organizers of the American Civil Uprising of 2014/15 which uprising is ultimately going to develop into a civil war and break up the USA into two nations ...a White America and a non-White America.

Although the writer below thinks Soros is the lone donor of the Ferguson movement,  I am willing to bet that there are several more sponsors with deep pockets who are anxious to see the bully nation brought to her knees.

Being a hedge fund kind of guy that George Soros is,  I have a suspicion that he is also partly or maybe even fully,  funding the "Blue Lives Matter" which is a pro-Police movement taking root in many cities.

All in all, a nice ripe scenario for a glorious revolution.  What's not to like about that eh?!

Kelly Riddell writing at WashingtonTimes:
George Soros funds Ferguson protests, hopes to spur civil action
Liberal billionaire gave at least $33 million in one year to groups that emboldened activists
There’s a solitary man at the financial center of the Ferguson protest movement. No, it’s not victim Michael Brown or Officer Darren Wilson. It’s not even the Rev. Al Sharpton, despite his ubiquitous campaign on TV and the streets.

Rather, it’s liberal billionaire George Soros, who has built a business empire that dominates across the ocean in Europe while forging a political machine powered by nonprofit foundations that impacts American politics and policy, not unlike what he did with MoveOn.org.

Mr. Soros spurred the Ferguson protest movement through years of funding and mobilizing groups across the U.S., according to interviews with key players and financial records reviewed by The Washington Times.

In all, Mr. Soros gave at least $33 million in one year to support already-established groups that emboldened the grass-roots, on-the-ground activists in Ferguson, according to the most recent tax filings of his nonprofit Open Society Foundations.

The financial tether from Mr. Soros to the activist groups gave rise to a combustible protest movement that transformed a one-day criminal event in Missouri into a 24-hour-a-day national cause celebre........

2 angry countries recall their Ambassadors from Indonesia

Good move from both Brazil and The Netherlands. The barbarity shown by this supposedly "most democratic of Muslim nations" by executing drug smugglers is beyond the pale.  I wish many other nations had done likewise, even if their citizens were not among those executed.
Isn't it strange that Muslim nations are so much against drugs when their own book is made up of the most lethal hallucinogenic havoc causing deadly concoctions?

Andrew Pestano writing at UPI:
Brazil and Netherlands recalled their Indonesian ambassadors after the firing-squad execution of six people convicted of drug smuggling.
Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff pleaded for clemency before the executions.

Marco Archer, 53, from Brazil, and Ang Kiem Soe, 52, from the Netherlands, were among those executed. The four others were from Malawi, Nigeria, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Archer is the first Brazilian to be executed by a foreign government. Indonesian President Joko Widodo previously said he will show no mercy to drug criminals.

Dutch Foreign Minister Bert Koenders said the execution was "a cruel and inhumane punishment... an unacceptable denial of human dignity and integrity.".....

Revolution, Glorious American Revolution lives on

I was looking at the map of the USA and thought that Chicago would probably be the capital of  the Black American side of the ultimately broken up America. Reason:  It's Obama's home town and a great number of prominent Black Americans live in that city. And, me thinks Rahm  Emanuel has been already laying the groundwork for the coming division.  The real fireworks will start soon after the 2016 presidential elections when Obama will be free to become the George Washington for his people and the saviour of the Spanish speaking people in many of the States down south and east.  I see Florida,  Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, New York State, Pennsylvania and  Michigan siding with Obama and the new Black America. Wonder which other States or parts of States will join the new country. Wonder what name the new citizens of a new country will choose to give it.
Exciting times are ahead.
The best thing of all will be the comforting thought that a war machine will be broken up and the rest of the world might at long last escape the tyranny of the bully Empire.

The decoupling from the dying Empire is picking up speed

So many similarities between the America of today and the days in mid-1770s when the colonies of Britain decided to decouple from the powers in Britain. The continentals ran out of patience with the English king and his harsh unreasonable policies imposed on them and took the bold step of not only fighting for independence but within no time at all, making such a great success of a united America.  How did their descendants in less than 250 years manage to make such a mess of it all today?

I find it so heartbreaking that the Americans of today do not pay any heed to the reason why their ancestors had opted for independence from their masters over the ocean.  The harsh warlike bullish nature of the America of today is not unlike the commands and bullying that came from England during those years before the war for independence.  It is this same reason why today we are seeing the BRICS and other nations seeking to decouple from the bully Empire.

One item ticked off ?

I guess this takes care of one of the items on the list of demands to be met,  that the jihadis holding the Jordanian pilot have made known to the powers-that-be. Oman is the ideal country to act as a go-between as it is, so far anyway, not involved in the madness steaming forth from the jihadis and the Western powers.

Our new normal.   Expect more and learn to live with it.  It's an acquired taste that the short-sighted, delusional and brainwashed take to, like fish take to water.

From MiamiHerald:
Guantánamo sends 5 Yemeni detainees to Oman, Estonia

The United States released five more Yemeni detainees from the prison camps in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, on Wednesday to far-flung locations — four to the Arabian Sea nation of Oman, and a fifth to Estonia in Northern Europe — in continuing transfers that have stirred protest from Congress.

A day earlier leading Republicans, notified in advance of the transfers, called a Capitol Hill news conference to seek more restrictions on the release of detainees at the U.S. Navy base in Cuba, which as of Wednesday numbered 122 prisoners.

“The decision to transfer a detainee is made only after detailed, specific conversations with the receiving country about the potential threat a detainee may pose after transfer,” said Paul Lewis, the Pentagon’s special envoy for Guantánamo prison closure, in announcing the latest release.....

Rogues, Sexpots, Warlords, Lunatics and Oligarchs

.... all found in plenty in the Ukraine

What a madhouse!  It wouldn't  bother us much, if not for the fact that the Prime Minister of our country and the whole entire bing-bang at the White House, were not wallowing in bed with that gangster country.  What a huge sticky mess!

Mikhail Klikushin writing at Observer:
The New Ukraine Is Run by Rogues, Sexpots, Warlords, Lunatics and Oligarchs
Prominent Ukrainian MP denounces Obama's weakness, calls him a 'shot-down pilot'

There were times in Ukraine’s recent history when even the country’s military brass were kneeling before the U.S. Literally. In June 2013, then-U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine John Tefft received the saber of the Ukrainian Cossack in the city of Kherson from a kneeling Ukrainian high-rank military official. Mr. Tefft nowadays is serving the country as an Ambassador to Russia where no such honors are even imaginable.

But that was then—a previous regime.

On the surface, today’s Ukraine is much more favorably disposed toward everything Western and everything American because of the exciting wind of transformations that swept through the Ukrainian political landscape last year. Its political culture looks modern, attractive, refined and European. For example, at the end of last year a new law was passed that allowed former citizens of other countries to participate in Ukrainian politics and even the government, in case they denounce their former citizenships. The reason given was the fight with notorious Ukrainian corruption. Apparently, in a country of more than 40 million people, Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk (called “Rabbit” by his citizens) couldn’t find a dozen or so native-born yet not corrupt professionals for his government.

Now three former foreigners—ex-American Natalia Yaresko (Minister for Finance), ex-Lithuanian Aivaras Abromavičius (Minister For Economy and Trade) and ex-Georgian Alexander Kvitashvili (Minister for Public Health)—are firmly established in their new cabinets. They are just the beginning. They gave up their U.S. and European passports with only two benefits in return: a $200-a-month salary and the chance to build a prosperous new Ukraine.

In a strange twist of fate, the Ukrainian ministers during their meetings now have to speak hated Russian—former foreigners do not speak Ukrainian well enough and locals do not speak English at the level necessary for complicated discussions on how to save a Ukraine economy that is disappearing before their eyes.

The problems they are facing are overwhelming. The new minister for economy, Mr. Abromavičius, knows that the country is in fact bankrupt. “To expect that we are going to produce real as opposed to declarative incentive programs is unrealistic,” he declared. In other words, the new Ukrainian budget is nothing but a piece of paper. But without this piece of paper there will be no new money from the European Bank and the IMF.

The first steps he has taken so far are controversial.

On January 5, the new minister for economy appointed former Estonian Jaanika Merilo—a young dark-haired beauty—as his advisor on foreign investments, improvement of business climate in Ukraine, coordination of international programs and so on. Directly after her appointment, the young lady put online not her resume or a program for Ukrainian financial stabilization but a series of candid shots that display her long legs, plump lips and prominent cleavage. In some shots, she places a knife to her lips a la Angelina Jolie and sits on the chair a la Sharon Stone.......

CrossTalk on the hypocrisy of the French, especially the French government

The hypocrisy is much more jaw-dropping than the few items touched on by the two journalists. Just a few hours ago, France arrested a black comedian for posting some nonsense on his facebook page on the pretext that it either condoned or encouraged terrorism.  The shamelessness of the world leaders and the utter lies and hypocrisy, especially from the politicians of the Anglosphere, is affecting even the stock markets and the economy.  When citizens see their politicians in their naked hypocrisy, how can they have any respect or confidence in their government?

Anybody remember the victims of State Terrorism?

While everybody is so engrossed with jihadi terrorism, let's take a peek at the masters of terrorism ... the government bodies themselves.  Is it possible that the jihadis of today have learnt their tricks from those who rule over us?  Is it possible that terrorism from governments which goes by the name "war" begets another kind of a war ... this time from those who were terrorized by the State? There is no end to the cycle of violence.
Warning: the link has graphic pics.

Dr David Halpin writing at Global Research:
“Je suis Ali Abbas”: The Forgotten Victims of State Terrorism
Massive terrorist attacks were hatched back soon after the pretext of cinematographic ‘terrorist’ attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001.

The state broadcaster in the UK pumped out the propaganda for these with all vigour and its usual guile.  The people of Afghanistan were first in line, that winter bombing and invasion had been planned for some months before smoke billowed up from the Twin Towers.

Iraqi humans were to be next.  Perle, Wolfowitz, Edelman, Bolton and other Zionists were sitting in our homes as bold as brass.  People like Tom Mangold frightened the old ladies with stories about the nerve gas attacks on the Tokyo tube and how Sarin in a bursting light bulb could kill in seconds.  ‘Free speech, fraternitė, and democracy’ were in the mix, but only a small part of broadcasting time was given over to speakers who were against terrorism by states.  They naively thought the Nuremberg protocols and the Charter of the UN had meaning in international law.

The psychopathic cabal in No 10 got the cogs turning in the Ministry of Defence, the Foreign Office and MI6.  A ‘dossier’ was produced in September 2002 but it turned out to be a ridiculous cut and paste job of a PhD ‘thesis’ from LA.  To laugh in the faces of those with any power of analysis is usual.  And there were the anthrax attacks in the ‘land of the free’.  Those were surely false flags, and lo, Perle claimed that they originated from Iraq.

The war machinery was gathering pace in spite of a majority of British citizens which tried quite hard to throw a spanner in the works.  The smiling, paramount psychopath and war criminal Blair, was undeterred (image, right).  A second ‘dossier’ was washed many times through the MoD and No 10 computers.  Another psychopath and ex-Mirror journalist Alistair Campbell (image below) was the editor it seems.  Saddam, the terrorist, could hit UK forces in Cyprus after a 45 minute order to launch.

How to stop jihadi terrorism

Good advice for the powers-that-be that we know the warmongers won't take as their perpetual greed for lavish lifestyles will forever mean shedding blood of humans in neverending wars.

George Washington writing at ZeroHedge
How to Beat Terrorism:  Stop Making the Same 7 Mistakes

In the wake of the barbaric Paris terror attack, everyone is debating how to stop further terrorism.
Some say we need more war against Islamic countries … or more spying … or more crackdowns on our liberties.
But – despite what the talking heads may say – the methods for stopping future attacks are well known.
We’ve got to drain the swamp.

I. Stop Overthrowing the Moderates and Arming the Crazies

We know it’s a difficult concept to grasp, but if we want to stop terrorism we should – wait for it – stop supporting terrorists......

.....Indeed, the French terrorists who just murdered the cartoonists in Paris apparently just returned
from waging war against the Syrian government, where they may – directly or indirectly
 – have obtained U.S. weapons or training......

II. Stop Supporting the Dictators Who Fund Terrorists

Saudi Arabia is the world’s largest sponsor of radical Islamic terrorists.

The Saudis have backed ISIS and many other brutal terrorist groups.  According to sworn declarations from a 9/11 Commissioner and the Co-Chair of the Congressional Inquiry Into 9/11, the Saudi government backed the 9/11 hijackers (see section VII for details).

Saudi Arabia is the hotbed of the most radical Muslim terrorists in the world: the Salafis (both ISIS and Al Qaeda are Salafis).

And the Saudis – with U.S. support – back the radical “madrassas” in which Islamic radicalism was spread.

And yet the U.S. has been supporting the Saudis militarily, with NSA intelligence and in every other way possible for 70 years.

In addition, top American terrorism experts say that U.S. support for brutal and tyrannical countries in the Middle east – like Saudi Arabia – is one of the top motivators for Arab terrorists.......

III. Stop Imperial Conquests for Arab Oil

The U.S. has undertaken regime change against Arab leaders we don’t like for six decades. We overthrew the leader of Syria in 1949, Iran in 1953, Iraq twice, Afghanistan twice, Turkey, Libya … and other oil-rich countries.

Neoconservatives planned regime change throughout the Middle East and North Africa yet again in 1991.

Top American politicians admit that the Iraq oil was about oil, not stopping terrorism........

From McClathyDC:
U.S. airstrike in Syria  may have killed 50 civilians
A U.S.-led coalition airstrike killed at least 50 Syrian civilians late last month when it targeted a headquarters of Islamic State extremists in northern Syria, according to an eyewitness and a Syrian opposition human rights organization.
The civilians were being held in a makeshift jail in the town of Al Bab, close to the Turkish border, when the aircraft struck on the evening of Dec. 28, the witnesses said. The building, called the Al Saraya, a government center, was leveled in the airstrike. It was days before civil defense workers could dig out the victims’ bodies.
The U.S. Central Command, which had not previously announced the airstrike, confirmed the attack Saturday in response to repeated McClatchy inquiries. “Coalition aircraft did strike and destroy an ISIL headquarters building in Al Bab on Dec. 28,” Col. Patrick S. Ryder said in an email......

From TodayInAfghanistan blog;
News of the Day for Sunday,  January 11, 2015
A couple of stories today indicating that some militants in Af-Pak are adopting the Islamic State brand, and that foreigners identifying with IS are coming to the region. First, a video posted on-line shows a former Taliban spokesman addressing a crowd to announce that various Afghan and Pakistani leaders have pledged allegiance to IS. A Pakistani soldier is then beheaded with a machete.
Meanwhile, the police chief of southern Zabul says that Arab militants have entered the area, with their families. It is not clear how extensive support for IS is in the region or how seriously one should take all this.
Residents of Sangin, Helmand, also say IS is operating in the area............

Boko Haram Torches Nigerian Town of Baga; 2,000 Missing: Senator
More than 2,000 people are unaccounted for after radical Islamist sect Boko Haram torched more than 10 towns and villages in Nigeria, a local lawmaker told NBC News. Ahmed Zanna, a senator for Borno state where the attack happened, said the militants razed the town of Baga as well as "10-to-20" other communities in the country's rural northeast over the past five days. "These towns are just gone, burned down," he told NBC News via telephone. "The whole area is covered in bodies.".........

You gotta wonder which well-heeled  nation is funding Boko Haram.  Guns and bombs are expensive and do not grow on trees. Someone somewhere is pleased that Nigeria won't be able to join the BRICS ... not anytime soon.  Someone somewhere is estastic that that part of Africa will remain poor and illiterate for many more decades.

Shortly afterwards in eastern Paris, anti-terrorist forces stormed a kosher supermarket where hostages were being held by a gunman with reported links to the brothers.

A big rally, supposedly of 3 million people, was held on Jan 11 in Paris and was attended by a horde of hypocritical world leaders who are much better known killers than the French jihadis responsible for 17 deaths.  The rally was supposedly held  to show that the French have now
miraculously all become united after the Hebdo tragedy ... just like how the Americans all cried their eyes out to show they were all united after 9/11.  The stench from the hypocrisy rising from the world leaders marching side by side with millions of the sheeple must have reached well beyond our universe and polluted the atmosphere of even the next.

In Ukraine's Donetsk,    the 'death clutch' of a forgotten war
Both Russian and Ukrainian economies in tatters, half a million people displaced
Frozen and forgotten — it's a tempting way to describe the bitter, low-grade war in eastern Ukraine.

It started in the spring, it drags on. Almost 5,000 people have been killed while the world yawns. ISIS, Ebola — these are more terrifying crises.

But for Liuba from Snizhnye, a mining town near Donetsk, the memory of conflict sears.
"I turned around right when the missile landed. The building began to collapse, windows were raining down on us. My legs were injured by the shrapnel, and a shock wave hit my eyes.
"One eye immediately went blind," she says. "My husband and I crawled to the basement. But my mother had stayed on the sixth floor under the missiles and bullets. We went up and brought her down."
I met Liuba this fall in the city of Kharkiv, just outside the war zone. She had escaped the shelling with her husband and mother.
She wasn't sure where the missile came from but she blamed the Ukrainian army. In trying to dislodge pro-Moscow separatists, they had destroyed her family's life..........

The woman spoke English with "a thick accent", but her nationality and identity remained unknown, Istanbul governor Vasip Sahin told Turkish TV.

YBŞ commander: The Yazidi  people are resisting
Sinjar Resistance Units (YBŞ) commander Zerdeşt Şengali called on all Yazidis (Ezidi) to support the YBŞ, adding that the stronger the force became the better it would be for the Yazidis and for Kurdistan.

Şengali told ANF that when ISIS gangs had taken Mosul in June 2014 the Yazidi people had realised Sinjar would be targeted because of its religious, historical and geographical importance. He added: “We called on political and military circles in Kurdistan to review the security situation in Sinjar, but I’m afraid to say that our brothers in the KDP and peshmerga did not allow any other military or political force in Sinjar until the massacre started.”

Zerdeşt Şengali said the YBŞ had been established in order to combat the massacre, coming into being in extraordinary circumstances. He said their expectations for 2015 were that Sinjar would be liberated, and that democratic autonomy would be put in place. “The Yazidi people, who have suffered massacres throughout history, have never submitted to the hegemony of central states. They have always resisted Arab, Turkish and Persian chauvinism. Today, too, the Yazidi people are resisting and will declare democratic autonomy. This is their most legitimate right in order to protect themselves from the massacres that took place last year,” he added..........
